Location: Preston

Description: Bouncy, energetic 4-piece with funky bass-lines and drum beats. Further intricacies are added with a keyboard and clever backing vocals. Have been described as something between Dexy's Midnight Runners, Ben Folds Five and the North West's very own Cheap Kojak.

Background: Hard to describe. The band are local and have been gigging for a good 9 months, but did not intentionally start the band, instead being brought together by the force that is Star 27, in order to spread its musical messages across the human race,

Played a brilliantly chaotic 20 minute gig in Manchester last September and are continually brought together on the 27th of each month to sprinkle their musical confetti over the masses. Treated Preston town centre to some Christmas sing song before headlining The Mill on December 12.

The December 12 gig at The Mill saw the band broaden their horizons somewhat spectacularly. Venturing into the field of mulitmedia entertainment Star 27 provided painting exhibits, experimental lighting and projector images, all of which are rumoured to have some sort of place in future shows.

Current Status: Still growing as a mouthpiece for the universe's only musical nightlight - withseven members now cemented in place, but more disciples on the horizon with disciples #9, #10 and #11 all selected and in training, although according to an unnamed disciple 'they may not know it themselves yet.'
