The Vinyls - Sunday Sun |
||||||||||||
|
First EP ‘Where The Boys Have Been’ established Andrew Harrison’s keyboard as a lead instrument, this time round guitars are thrown to the fore, evident from the EP’s searing, thumping intro to the CD which quickly intensifies into the pop-punk extravaganza of opener Two Good People. Walking bass-line Title track Sunday
Sun uses a light, chiming keyboard laid over a deep, walking bass-line,
with Harrison’s voice sounding drawn and almost desperate as he
sings: Highlight of the EP is undoubtedly third track Goldmine, in which The Vinyls Rock and Roll-Soul sound crashes head-on with Britpop, giving hints of Octopus’ Garden meet Blur, and Harrison’s voice, at times, sounds scarily like Thom Yorke’s immaculate whine on The Bends. Copies of the EP are
primarily for the attention of producers and record companies, but if
in search of a copy, get in touch with the band online at www.thevinyls.com Written by Dan Jeoffroy
