Description: One of the more serious and determined bands of the Preston music scene. Five piece rock band that have created their own brand of relaxing, American, meleancholic rock, reminiscent of the Counting Crows and early REM. Treehouse 3 can have a tendency to sound slightly unoriginal in places, sometimes sitting back too comfortably in their genre, but do possess an upbeat edge evident in Freak and early recording Lash, comparable American band Semisonic and the blues-rock ballads of Ryan Adams.

Background: Treehouse 3 have done everything but make it big. Forming in 1996, they have been through many twists, turns and cheese graters, only to come out the otherside with two albums, two New York tours and a place in their hometown as one on Preston's favourite live acts.

Pete and Mark were originally dedicated to making it with Preston outfit Pronoise, moving down to London to find out the hard way that the streets are not always paved with gold, sometimes just cold, hard tarmac.

The first signs of Treehouse 3 came when Pete and Mark bumped into a certain Seamus Mcloughlin at the 'T in the Park' festival in Glasgow, he turned out to be from Preston, and looking for a bassist and drummer - a move back to Preston was clearly in order.

The band started rehearsing and went through names like paper towels, including 'Huge', 'Bear' and 'Blue' before finally settling on Treehouse 3 the following year.

Long unnoticed in England, the band took their songs abroad, playing shows in New York, signed to management company Triune, also recieving unexpected publicity from as far off as Norway.

Further tours, albums and E.P's followed, gradually picking up a few more members along the way in the form of Stuart Mayor and Russ Hitchin.

Current Status: Currently in Preston, having emerged victorious at this years' Battle of the Bands at The Mill. The band also have a selection of new material, some of it recorded and ready to go, with which to make a new assault on the British market this year.
