Staring At Stars EP cover

Members:
Philip Moss- vocals
Mark Jackson- lead guitar
Dave Bertram- guitar
Phil Scarisbrick- bass
Adz Taylor- drums

Location: Leyland

Description: Upbeat, guitar-driven and loud indie-rock and roll. Underdogs are not here to reinvent the wheel, and are heavily influenced by nineties Manchester bands. Also deride influences from more modern outfits such as Kings of Leon, The Libertines and The Strokes.

Background: Certain members of the band were previously part of another local group called The Message. Mark Jackson and Phil Moss then joined Dave Bertram in another local outfit calling themselves Harlem. Line-up changes soon forced the band to reconsider their name and remarket themselves as Supernova.

'Supernova' played together from January 2004 and played over 20 gigs in the North-West including support slots with The KBC and have recently organised an appearance at The Mill in Preston. The band have a large back catalogue of songs but have re-written and refurbished their live set since last year. The band also released the Staring At Stars ep in May 2004,

Current Status: Recently changed their name to Underdogs and have begun playing regularly around the city. Looking to get out to Manchester in the near future and have a new EP called Some Things Change and are preparing to take their trade to neighbouring cities over the coming months.
