The Mill - Preston's premier music venue

Libertines' Pete Doherty penned to play The Mill

Will Pete Doherty cause a riot at The Mill? Pete Doherty's side project Babyshambles have been pencilled in to play a gig at The Mill on Sunday 9 May, with possible appearances from the rest of The Libertines and the Wolfman.

The annoucement was made this morning at short notice by The Mill website. The event is not certain to go ahead and there are still details to be sorted out and confirmed.

Recent Babyshambles gigs have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to The Underground venue in Stoke and a show in Wigan on Monday (May 3) ended in chaotic scenes as crowds invaded the stage to sing along.

A spokesperson for Action Records on Church Street explained:

"We've spoken to the organisers and if it goes ahead they say they can get tickets produced and turned around in 24-hours, so we'll probably have them by Thursday afternoon"

Tickets for the event, should it be confirmed, will be £12 and available from Action Records and 'See' ticketline.
