Soul Of The North aims high with first release

A Northern Soul Preston record label Soul Of The North is aiming to bring the world of break-beat and Indy together with a new sampler album planned for release within the next two months.

Paul Adams, founder and owner of the promotions, recording and production company, told Listen Up:

“We’re going to launch the sampler in about two months, followed by a 12-inch single soon after. We’ve been working with The KBC and Sound Noir whose work might feature on it, and we’ve got some really talented producers on board. It’s mostly about getting the Soul Of The North sound across to people.

Drifting

“In between each track on the sampler we’ll have an intro and outro with the Soul Of The North sound drifting all the way through, hopefully telling a story, which we’re working on at the moment.”

Soul Of The North was launched two and a half years ago as a brand name through which the company could develop, as well as an internet message board for local music fans. Since it’s launch the message board has racked up some 237 members, Paul explains:

“There’s a lot of people have become attached to the name through the message board [at www.soulofthenorth.co.uk] but it’s not an Indy label. We’ve got loads of dance stuff about the place. I want to try and fuse the Indy and Break-beat scene because there’s a good market for it.”
