Eller will bring his one man circus into town on November 21 to promote his new CD "Taking Up Serpents Again" after clearly enjoying Preston's hospitality last time round. Eller last played to a busy 12 Bar on Easter Sunday earlier this year, and the show is honestly like nothing you have ever seen before and is every bit worth checking out, especially as it is free entry. The deep south, controversial entertainer, cares little for the high brow politicians of his homeland and even apologised to the British last time round in between carelessly bounding and leaping around the stage, in amongst the audience and over equipment. HIs songs tell old-fashioned, comical and sometimes heart-rending stories of executions, ghost towns and downtown Detroit, as he plucks and picks his way through a section of his ever-growing back catalogue of southern fried banjo-blues. More information on Curtis Eller can be found at www.curtiseller.com/genshownoframes.html, and a review of Mr Ellers' last 12 Bar visit can be found here.
