The Mill - Preston's premier music venue

The Mill celebrates 1st birthday in style

The Mill as it used to beSaturday saw The Mill celebrate its one year anniversary since reopening as a serious music venue last September. Ex Happy Mondays and Black Grape singer Shaun Ryder was on hand to perform a DJ set as The Mill's new look attracted hundreds of people from around the city.

The nightclub has been shut for the past month as it recieved a facelift ready for the new academic year. And it seems to have done the trick as over 400 hundred people packed out The Mill to celebrate the one year birthday of the Saturday Session Club night

The club now boasts two rooms offering music for differing tastes, a second dance floor, a new club nights, 'Girls and Boys' on Thursday, which sees the contraversial inclusion of cheesey pop music, as well as installing an improved sound system making the dancefloor even more captivating. Russ Carlton, DJ and promoter, described the night as 'one of the best he has seen at The Mill since it opened.'

The venue will still be hosting an array of live music, including Friday and Saturday's Showcase Fuzzy's, and signed bands including Proud Mary, The Delays, The Burn and Agent Blue.
